Facilities Associate – Full Time

Guest House Retreat & Conference Center is currently recruiting a full time Facilities Associate. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and reside locally. Strong organizational and communication skills are a must. This entry level position is a great opportunity for recent technical school grads.

The Facilities Associate reports to the Facilities Director. The starting salary is $13-$15 per hour, based on experience. Flexible schedule, including some weekend days and occasional service calls. The full time work schedule is an average of 35 daytime hours per week. We have a casual, friendly environment and offer a great benefits package, including paid time off, 8 paid holidays, health insurance, dental & vision plans, health flexible savings account – and meals when available.

All final candidates will undergo both a criminal and employment background check.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute preventative maintenance and inspection programs as directed
  • Maintain conference equipment in clean, working order
  • Prepare necessary preventative maintenance, environmental compliance, and regulatory records
  • Keep the facility and property safe, clean and organized during all projects and daily operations
  • Participate in staff and planning meetings and mandatory training
  • Prepare meeting spaces for guest groups
  • Support Green Lodging certification initiatives as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years’ work experience
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and email programs
  • Available weekdays, weekends and on call as needed
  • Punctual and reliable, with reliable transportation
  • Self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Local area residency to meet back-up and emergency service calls requirements
  • Strong aptitude to learn new skills
  • Some general facility maintenance knowledge helpful
  • Handyperson skills preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Walking from floor to floor inside the facility
  • Walking outside of the facility in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift at least 70 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Using hands to operate machinery including hand tools, power tools, lawn equipment, and office equipment
  • Speaking and hearing

Dining Services Associate – Part Time

Guest House Retreat & Conference Center is currently seeking a part time Dining Services Associate. The ideal candidate lives locally and is self-motivated, energetic, a team player, and demonstrates a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will possess a commitment to customer service excellence. We have a casual, friendly environment and offer meals when available. The starting salary is $10.50 – $10.75 per hour, based on experience.

The Dining Services Associate reports to the Executive Chef/Dining Services Director. Our business is flexible based on events scheduled throughout the year. Work hours will vary up to 24 hours during busy weeks. The Dining Services Associate must be available to work all shifts, including evenings and weekends. Typical shifts are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The selected candidate will undergo criminal and employment background checks.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Washing dishes
  • Warmly greeting guests when they enter the dining areas
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction by maintaining the dining areas
  • Restocking dining room amenities
  • Daily cleaning of all dining and work areas
  • Support in housekeeping and/or facilities as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

JOB REQUIREMENTS include, but are not limited to:

  • Available to work all shifts
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Dependable transportation
  • Positive, friendly and respectful attitude
  • Neat appearance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Residence in Middlesex County strongly preferred
