  • Guest House is owned and operated by Ten Directions, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation formed by students of the Diamond Approach. The aim of Guest House is to provide a nurturing, supportive environment that will allow individuals to focus on their work and use their collective energy to develop their human potential, strengthen their organizations, and bring their individual work into the world.

    Based on the teachings of A.H. Almaas, the Diamond Approach is a modern spiritual approach that involves open inquiry into one’s experience, using traditional meditation and other methods along with psychological exploration.

    The mission of Ten Directions is to create and operate a retreat center that contributes to the realization of the unity of humankind and to the understanding of the absolute uniqueness of each human being.

  • Guest House was founded with a three-fold purpose:

    • To serve as a home for East Coast Diamond Approach groups.
    • To provide a supportive environment to other teachers and organizations with compatible aims working in the areas of psychology, spiritual work, health and wellness, leadership and teamwork, scientific exploration, or ecological, social and environmental responsibility.
    • To deepen and expand the Diamond Approach by creating programs that generate dialogue between the Diamond Approach and other teachings and disciplines.

    The name of our retreat center was inspired by the poem The Guest House by Rumi, a 13th century mystic poet. To read the poem, please click here.
