  • An Exploration of Creativity

  • EXPLORE CREATIVITY, WHILE HELPING GUEST HOUSE:

Enter the wonder and mystery of the creative process with artist Brian Wood during an intimate evening Saturday, November 12, at 7 PM in his Manhattan studio. Brian will converse about his work, which he describes as “an ongoing exploration of consciousness.” He will explain how particular experiences—9/11, for instance, or the impact of spiritual teachings—evolve and take physical form on paper, canvas and other media. Recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation, internationally acclaimed painter, photographer and printmaker Brian Wood has works in many private and public collections all over the world, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan (New York); the Corcoran Gallery (DC); the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; and museums in Montreal, Prague and Cologne. He was recently part of “25 Years/25 Artists,” a group show at Julie Saul Gallery. Appetizers and desserts will be served, and work will be for sale, a portion of which will be donated to Guest House.
