Experiencing True Nature through Movement and Sound
With Byron Brown
April 12 – 15, 2012

Connecting with our bodies is a doorway to experiencing being
Many religious traditions consider that our physical body is a barrier to realizing our spiritual nature, and many spiritual seekers believe they must transcend the isolation and separateness of the body to contact states of spiritual realization. Mystical insight, however, makes it clear that Being is the nature of all manifestation including the physical body.
This workshop will be an exploration through movement and voice of the ways our body can be a vehicle for directly experiencing Being. We will walk, run, stand, sit, bend, crawl, and lie down with an easy sense of play and discovery. This will give us a break from our familiar activities of thinking, reacting, judging, planning, comparing, worrying, and figuring out. We will find the dance of our breath, balance, and heartbeat. We will contact our aliveness through experiential toning, chanting, singing, and voice play. Then we will take time to reflect on our experience and explore the barriers to being more fully present in our physical and energetic life.
