  • The Enneagram and the Diamond Approach

  • An Exploration with Russ Hudson

  • November 18-20, 2011

  • Program Description:

In this workshop, participants will come to understand how the entire personality structure of each type develops in the ego’s misguided attempt to regain contact with these parts of our True Nature. Thus, used in this way, the Enneagram is actually a system to support us in coming back to ourselves in the living moment: to remember ourselves. Using this orientation, participants will be exposed to the true depth of the Enneagram: as a tool both for not only understanding the development and structures of the personality, but for personal spiritual development and self-realization.

Making explicit what has often been implicit in his work, international Enneagram teacher and author Russ Hudson will for the first time reveal how the orientation of the Diamond Approach© has informed his own work of articulating and teaching the Enneagram. He will lead participants through the Enneagram from the perspective of open inquiry, a practice he learned through many years of work in the Diamond Approach. Based on the teachings of A.H. Almaas, the Diamond Approach is a modern spiritual system that involves open inquiry into one’s experience, using traditional meditation and experiential exercises along with psychological exploration.

It is recommended that participants have at least a basic knowledge of the Enneagram, but no knowledge of the Diamond Approach is assumed. The retreat will include meditation, talks, experiential exercises, discussion, and music.
